The Big Draw – Day 8: Lightning McQueen & 20s Girl with Hat

It’s Day 8 already! I have to confess something. I signed up for Blogtoberfest and feel kind of like I’m cheating because I’m already posting a Big Draw post every day! On the other hand, I just noticed that I’ve been posting at least two posts a day for all of October – I feel much better already :)

Dylan’s Day 8 Drawing

Dylan decided to draw Lightning McQueen from Cars today. I am quite impressed, because he drew this while watching Toopy & Binoo (and laughing his head off) the entire time.

Belle’s Day 8 Drawing

I found a book of cartoons from the 20s that I have, published by Dover Arts, and liked the look of this one woman wearing a very wild hat, so I decided to draw her. It was very fun – I think this is the first time I’ve drawn something like this. I was inspired by Lynn’s drawings from children’s book covers. They looked like they were so much fun to create!

The car is adorable, with it’s eye. The hat with feathers is great.

I love these and have to say…I am jealous you are able to participate with Dylan, my pajama girl is in kindergarten and this would have been a great thing to do with her. Children’s drawings are so precious, I love the smiling car.

I also love this girl with felt hat…great hat and great freckles. My daughter’s art teacher is forcing the kids to try and draw from pictures right now, he says it is better to draw from pictures and learn that way. As soon as my crow story is over I will have to do some fun picture drawing from pictures!
